During my time volunteering for Baby Blues Connection, I watched women suffering from perinatal mood disorders. At one point a woman was having lactating issues, and there was pressure from the family to breastfeed. The doctor only offered formula as a solution, with no other option. The family structure was dissolving, the health of the baby was deteriorating, and the mental health of the birthing parent was plummeting. It was awful. I felt powerless.
I felt as if these women were abandoned by their primary caregivers. When issues would arise, new mothers didn’t know the extent of what was available as a resource, while losing valuable bonding time.
While interviewing these phenomenal practitioners on video, I have learned so much about wellness and am so excited for you to be informed by these passionate professionals dedicated to postpartum health.

Our primary focus is to provide support for survivors of
domestic violence to promote empowerment and change.
Statistics show that survivors are less likely to return to a violent
partner or repeat a domestic violence situation when they
participate in regular physical activity. Yoga promotes healing of
the body and mind, while providing a sense of power, strength
and well being.
